newton’s 2nd law
September 16, 2008, 4:39 pm

Newton second law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum is the forced produced in the direction of velocity.

Momentum is defined as the product of force and velocity in the direction of it’s motion. The difficulty with this equation lies in the first law. Which could be well summarized into a word, inertia. Indeed, it is easier to get a body to continue in it’s motion instead of starting the motion.

Govern by these laws, one must to subscribe to the notion that it is indeed harder to gain momentum when it’s lost. Hence, keep it while it is still burning, just increase it’s velocity.

What then propells the velocity?

If i may bring this theory a little further, i wonder if it applies truly for compassion. It is tough to gain, but easy to continue as long it is injected with sufficient velocity. However, when lost, much effort is required to wake the harden heart. Routine without value simply catalyst the death of compassion for the lost.

To me, what will propell this velocity maybe well due to compassion and other factors. Yet it maybe one of the most effective momentum to fuel the velocity, but the one that could die off if it is not well taken care off.

My point is this: never lose compassion.

I am a Determined Realist
September 14, 2008, 4:21 pm

Determined Realists like to bear responsibility and welcome challenges. They are stable, reliable persons. External contacts are very important to them; they mix well and are very active. They are excellent organisers and are very happy when things are done correctly and punctually; they can quickly react impatiently if others are not as conscientious, orderly and dutiful as they are. They prefer structured work which produces visible results quickly to abstract, long-drawn-out processes. Determined Realists have no problem with routine as long as it serves efficiency. However, they very much dislike unexpected and unpredictable occurrences which mess up their careful plans. Once they have committed themselves to a cause they do this with dedication and are willing to make considerable sacrifices for it.Determined Realist

Determined Realists do not avoid conflicts and criticism but face up to them and look for solutions. As they have a keen eye for the errors and shortcomings of others and are often quick at expressing criticism, they sometimes rub people up the wrong way especially when they lose their temper and jump to conclusions. Due to their marked sense of justice they are quickly willing to correct themselves and never take offence if someone speaks to them frankly. You do not have to seek hidden motives with them; you always know where you are. Determined Realists are often found in executive positions as they combine commitment, competence and the ability to assert themselves. In their spare time, they often also accept responsibility in clubs and other institutions.

Traditions rate highly with Determined Realists. They attend every family event and never forget a birthday or wedding anniversary. Family and friends are very important to them. With their open, communicative manner, they find it easy to get to know people and have a large circle of friends and acquaintances. They are never superficial, but reliable and loyal friends who are always there when they are needed. Determined Realists take their relationships very seriously – they dream of finding a partner for life. In a love relationship, they seek above all stability and loyalty and here, too, they are willing to invest a lot in a harmonious togetherness. Determined Realists master crises or difficult phases with composure; they would never think of breaking a promise given. As a partner, one can always rely on their support.

it’s over!

Take a look around and SMILE and REJOICE for my last prelims is finally over in my life! Cheers! :D

Some reflections for the entire prelims:

The climax of stress has been escalating since weeks ago, and with hectic activities with finite amount of time simply catalyze the duanting emotions. Despite the stress and all, God has certainly saw me through the entire period and sustained me with his strength. In the nutshell, i experience God in a greater depth through this period. :D This does not imply straight As. But i think i should be able to pass all my subjects with D and above, i hope.

Alright, as promised. Below are a portion of my reflections of the entire LC. If you want to the entire questions and answers, learning and all. Just drop me a msg on MSN or tell me when you see me. Apparently, it’s four pages long. :D Pardon me for all the grammatical errors that will soon appear before your very eyes, for i am too lazy to edit. Also, there are all the random photos i took in HK. haha!

Oh yeah, rejoice with me that i swam and ran today too. haha.

For the teachings:

CG08 is nothing in comparison to winning the world. When we are only talking about schools, others are talking about countries. To crudely put it, if we do not complete the schools given we are seriously pathetic. The vision is so big, and we cannot be held back by certain things that are so trivial. Since we are talking about an indigenous church, it is sound that pioneers do not remain forever in the ground to lead. There is a need to rise up local leaders from school. The training ground to church plant starts in our care group. Staying relevant to attract locals is necessary. Having good heart alone is not enough, but staying relevant is essential. The church has to be appealing and relevant to the world we live in.

For the questions and answers session:

Why do I stay in hope? The only thing that clearly distinguishes hope from the rest is that we have a vision that is so attractive and big. It set me to think if I am just doing church, or truly living for the vision we have. This is to fulfill the great commission in our lifetime by building strong and biblical people in our lifetime and plant churches all over the world.

It made me realized that whatever task our leaders give us is because they believe in us, not because no one else can do it. We have to owe it to ourselves and seek God on our own.

I cannot help but to agree with the notion that relationship with God is the key in sustaining and thriving in this race. When things are going bad, we need to take time to evaluate.

Leaders do not put up a show in our down times; rather we lead by example with the fact that relationship with God alone is enough.

It is imperative that we need to know the word well, so that God can speak to us. In short, be sensitive to the voice of God. How can you even be, if you do not take time out to worship and read the word of God?

Importantly in bringing our parents to know God, we need to be an example at home. If not, we do not have a right to share the gospel with them.

In order to teach with convictions, you need to learn to let the holy sprit speak to you.

It is not for us to decide on where we shall go to plant church, if God drops the seed, just go. No contemplation. Go and you will receive the convictions there.
