I would do a great sense of injustice if I do not write a short post before i go back to my urban jungle :( but still, i rejoice because it’s a place where i can personally witness people coming closer to God!

Yes, if YOU are in NORTH C and YOU were not there for the unit sports event today YOU have LOST OUT A LOT! I feel SAD for you! Because you missed out the amount of great fun we had and laughters plus some violence!

And if you were THERE, I CANNOT HELP BUT TO REMEMBER THIS

3-1 ( the points stood there for EXTREMELY LONG) :D But still, it was very fun!

More than the fun we had, we had the honour of a friend, loinel from ADSS joining us! Heys, CRIES OUT TO ALL YOU NORTH PEOPLE AND NORTH C PEOPLE!

YOU KNOW WHAT? CARE GROUP IS NOT MEANT FOR ONLY BELIEVERS! it’s an avenue for those who do not know Jesus to come to be closer to him and be connected with the community!

DREAM ON ABOUT RETENTION IF WE ONLY HARD CORE BANG BING BONG ON ESS! for many will come, and a flood will flood their way to a life that has no eternal purpose! Hence, this community that we are all building is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!

Doesn’t it feels totally different with people who have yet know Jesus in our gatherings? Yes, but we got to make it a norm. If not people, we are just lying to oursleves that we live a lifestyle of outreach!

So my beloved and violent north c, today’s event was not just fun but you know what? your fun drew others who do not know Jesus to be connected to our community of God’s love! So let’s keep it up!

I urge all of us to always have non believers in our caregroups weekly and all events!

Oh yes, if you still do not know this you better be!

EVERY WEDNESDAY

NORTH C  WILL BE HAVING OUR VERY OWN

SPORTS DAY

AT THE USUAL PLACE FROM 5-7PM

If you need to leave eariler, it’s fine! But if you don’t come, you are so going to miss out a whole deal man! :D It’s time to let down our hair in the mid week and enjoy the fellowship of captains ball and whatever game we can have! but the best part is also we will connect people to this community of fun!

If all the 4 schools just bring one weekly, thenwe will have 4 new friends weekly! So the below pictures we took today, shall expand together!

Amen! :D In near time, we will have a lot of people inyour school photos! Then we shall keep the training, and in camp we shall play with other district!

Yeah!

why i am unstoppable

My name is DAVID HOE TECK CHYE
And I am unstoppable

I don’t flirt with or date the church
I’m not infatuated with the church
I have no illusion that the church is perfect

What I have is a commitment to love God’s church
Not just with words but with my hands and feet
I’ll neither point finger nor look further for the answer’s in the mirror

I believe God’s not dead; He’s building the church he died for
living miracle of a bunch of imperfect people loving imperfect people
I believe God has called us to build this church without walls

My name is DAVID HOE TECK CHYE
I am a living stone of God’s church
And together we are unstoppable

-it was not an exact wholesale from PS wordpress, but i changed the name! :D

In short, my heartbeat is the same as what she writes, so might as well. :D

In short, lazy but convictions still bruning! :D

before i enter to a known land

North had our very first harvester’s meet after camp yesterday! Honestly, I may have attended many meetings in my life, but i certainly love all the meetings i had yesterday! :D

Below are some stuff that our beloved Sharlene shared and it renewed and refreshed my convictions.

1. It takes one man to change the world

2. If you do not play to win, God does not want you in his team

More than the meetings, it was also the fellowship that i enjoyed that happened after that! :D I totally enjoyed the ring of circle with our food that we randomly bought from PS and we went for our window shop at cathay! :D The night was still young, and some stayed to catch a movie together with us at 955pm! We watched drag me to hell, and some of our people freaked out like cow! :D I truly enjoyed the fellowship with North C,  Sharlene and Xue Yong! :D

More than that, i had a great overnight with the wonderful friends from central! People like Keith, Jang, Yk and Joel.

Honestly, it’ss great to serve God with friends around spurring each other on! :D

This is a race made for me alone, but we have people running beside us together! So North C and anyone else, let’s continue to cheer each other on by encouraging or even at times bringing each other back to the right track.  :D

a new habit

Filed under: convictions, family, friends, race, random thoughts

If you have carefully observed, i have developed a new habit while i’m serving the nation by either blog hopping or writing my wordpress between 12-1.30pm on a weekday! :D After which, i will be trying to stay awake in class listening to the one who is lecturing on law or keeping myself awake with a book! :D When all else fails- as usual, i will tend to irritate the person on my left and right! That makes time pass me by extremely fast! :D

Before i came into the lib i was feeling-  extremely :D (well, with my usual wide mouth)

After signing in to use this computer i was even :D

Once i start blog hopping from people who are in NC

1st blog- :(

2nd- wha lao

3rd- super :(

4th- super to the max :(

and it continues…

IT’S SO DEPRESSING! :(

All i could do is to look at everyone laughters and the amount of fun they were having in yesterday unit outing! AH!

i seriously i wish i could be there with you guys man! :(

But still, i must say that i’m so proud of everyone of you for making northc like a family! As we continue to build this family and shower each other with love and encouragement we will always seek and want to DIRECT AND REFLECT christ! :D

Lastly, with all my heart i must say this LOUDLY.

I LOVE MY LEADERS FOR THEY ARE AWESOME

SENTOSA, XIN RU AND JOSHUA

AND

I LOVE NORTH C!

lastly, i wish i could be in this shot!

well, i can finally say my piece

I vividly remember someone posted this question during unstoppable- ‘this is you number what camp?’. Upon listening to the questions, i can’t help but to start using my fingers to start counting and to my horror this is my number 17th camp! :D

Do you know that i use to hate writing sermon notes, and the first time where i actually started writing was in my first camp in NUS because i feel asleep during teaching and the person who was sitting beside me took my book and wrote it down for me. In my moments of embarrassment, i started my endeavor in writing sermon notes. Till today, i still can’t remember who was the one who wrote it for me because i didn’t even dare to glance at the person a second time.

Each camp brings me different memories and things that God will etch in my heart.

Likewise, in unstoppable i would describe it as God cheering me on in this race and a reality slap in my leadership.

In my randomness, i shall type down few learning’s that God etch in my heart! :D

1. I’m a hypocrite in transition

2. Age is just a number- if you choose to feel young, you are young.

3. Vision – a leader must know what’s God vision for him

4. Character- humility

5. Dying to oneself- when was the last time we die to ourselves?

6. Don’t just encourage your sheep to grow, but go through it with them. Pray and Fast with them

7. Endure- dont’ give up on reaching out to people

Here comes the end of my randomness. :D

Apart from God speaking to me in this camp, this marks a new ministry for me in north! With a entitle new unit called NORTHC! Honestly, though it was just a mere 4 days, i truly love this family! What makes NC so special is simple, WE ARE ALL FROM WOODLANDS!

I’m so proud to be in north c not only for the fact that people in this family are loving but they are fun people! Talk about being supportive, they are certainly the best people! The change of group was like a rapid wind, but people in north c took it with a heart that wants to follow their leader because their leader follow God! More importantly, north c is filled with people with a heart that God can reach! :D So proud of all of you!

Below are some pictures we took and i truly love!

r1

The heart that was painted by all of our palms since day one! We came to camp with many objectives, but this heart remind us of one thing and one thing alone. In this camp, we choose to make it personal. We want to seek God and be ministered by him.

The heart that is filled with all of our hearts represents that we are one family. Though we maybe a new unit, we have one heart together. We love God and we love this family of God.

What separates us from the rest of the world is this, in this family we accept everyone for who they are and not because of what they can do. Just like how God accepted us, we accept others. Everything we do is merely a reciprocate of what God has done for us! :D

r2

Isn’t it a nice sight when we see the candles glow? Yes, shall explain about that later. :D

r4

The question still remains, what makes north c really north c?

Is it simply because we are from woodlands then we shall be named north c?

What makes north c north c is simple:

1. Family

In this family, we choose to love one another, accept one another and promise to spur each other on in this race.

We relate with purity as brothers and sisters not desperate monkeys.

A family that serves God together

2. Relationship with God

Oh well, this is my thousand time saying this but i don’t care!

In north c, i don’t care what L you become but if ever one day any one of us is not walking right with God, i will ask you to stop whatever you are doing and seek God first. Because what i truly care most if your walk with God. Get this clear! Jesus didn’t die for you for you to be whatever L you want but it was meant for a relationship with Him. Hence, our service to God must flow out form a loving and vital relationship with Him.

We will all struggle, but we will never give up because we love him and he will strenghten us!

3. A word centered generation that will give birth to other similar generations

In short, we are man and woman of one book.

simple enough?

By living out what makes north c really north c 2 things will happen:

1. We will reflect Christ

We are normal students on the outside, but when people see us they don’t just see any normal person but someone who carries Christcharacter around and overflowing with His love, forgiveness, power and grace in our lives.

2. We will direct others back to God

Yes. Because of our lives, people will se Jesus and we will reach out to them and bring them back home. Therefore, all the schools in woodlands we will come and bring you back home!

180- life transformation in all schools. Guess what north c? we are taking 10 schools out of the 180 schools! Come next year we will be taking another school! So north c, let’s build this family, treaureour walk withGod and choose to be word centered! By doing so, all schools will come to know the love of Christ!

I’m dying otmyself to see God’s vision spreading in woodlands. The picture of causeway point flooded with Y-hope it shall happen! The belief of from one unit we will be 3 in decemebercamp- we believe and choose to act it out! :D

God, pour out your mercy on this family! :D

once again, few words are on my mind and they are:

1. FAMILY

2. RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

3. WORD CENTERED GENERATION

4. REFLECT CHRIST

5. DIRECT OTHERS BACK TO HIM

ONE PICTURE THAT HAS BEEN IN MY MIND FOR DAYS:

which i can’t find it now! Hope to find it soon! real soon! :D

after all, it’s enriching.
June 4, 2009, 5:45 am

I used to have this rigid mentality about my current phase of life that it would be a complete waste of time- though i must still admit that some routine seems relatively redundant. However, my ‘point of view’ was revised not long after being in the system for a few months.

It has indeed been an enriching as i drown myself with a wide variety of readings, reflections, interactions and so much more. In short, my life has been enriched by the sharing of information through the singular mass media- books. Never had i ever read so much in my life before.

Today, i celebrate the accomplishment of finishing another two books that has enlarged my perspective of the world. Interestingly, my greatest accomplishment for the day is that i finished this book entitled, ‘whatever you think think the opposite’ by Paul Arden in 20 minutes. This is an easy to read book, and managed to caught me bursting in laughter by the photographs and quotation of the author.

i quote something written from the book and certainly worth some evaluation.

I wish.

I wish means: wouldn’t it be nice if…

If you always make the right decisions, the safe decision, the one most people make, you will be the same as everybody else.

Always wishing life was different.

In my attempt to grow in politics point of view, the next book that i am   about to read is ‘Flashpoints in the war of terrorism’ edited by Drek S. Revron and Jeffery Stevenson Murer.

Read passionately, widely and soundly. :D More importantly, put the learnings into actions.

:) This would be my first time writing a post from HTA (this simply means that i’m in camp). Well, the urban jungle is not a bad place after all considering i’m still able to get in touch with the outside world through the internet and not forgetting my powerful i touch which allows me to access to msn. This does not eradicate the fact that i’m still confined without the fences and will only be release on Friday. :)

Apparently, i wanted to make this post on last Saturday however i felt asleep in front of my netbook after typing an incoherent line. Though i must say that this post would certainly be incomplete without photos but i still would like to spill out my thoughts that i had on that day.

Honestly, i must admit this.

I LOVE NORTH. Not because this is a clique thing to say, but it really springs out from the bottom of my heart. I’m not someone who is closely affiliated with tears, but during the only rehearsal that i went last Friday i was only a cm close to tears. I’m taken aback, awestruck, dumbfounded and whatever words you would like to fill in to represent shock/touched or whatever by the talents we have in north.

Indeed, I’m proud to say that I’m in north. :D

come to think of it, what does north lack to grow till we can hit our own service?

We have MM, SOUND, HOLYCOM, HSEKEEPING, P AND W LEADERS, even a PASTOR(ress)?, stage manager and like everything we have. So what’s next? I believe that north service is just a matter of time but it also depends on how much we want to see it happen.

A random thought just came across my mind as i typed the last sentence. Few months ago when i just enlisted to this urban jungle, i clearly envisioned that north growing to 250-300 is not a problem. Simply because we have young leaders who are capable of leading 30-50 people! So yes, i truly believe that north breaking 200 is never an issue but it lies within our hearts. :D

Alright, time to enrich my life with the people here and reading of the three magazines that i just took.

Can you believe it? all i wanted to type was i love north. Then it became a short post.

Just some brain teaser for you readers:

If red house is made of red bricks, blue house made of blue then what about green house?

John’s mother have three children one of them is name April and the other is may, what is the third?

though i must say that they are retard questions. Did it yesterday. :)
